If you're near a computer, you can log into MyTmobile.com and check your statements online. You can also check your unbilled activity as well.
If you have your phone handy, you can press #BAL#<SEND> and it will show you your current balance owed (will show $0.00 if your current billing cycle hasn't closed yet, but already paid your past month's bill).
You can also call Customer Service (611 from your cell) and ask what your outstanding balance is (but that's more hassle for both you and them).
