the difference between of Laptopconnect and PDAconnect is you can get a dedicated number with Laptopconnect
currently I have no plan to change carrier, but a co-worker, he has PDAconnect (with Treo650)
I'll tell him about that, because he brings laptop to work sometimes, but he can't connect to network at work for security reason
