i have a samsung A870 phone with verizon wireless and hate there prepaid service. I wanted to switch to Alltel U but keep the same phone fron Verizon. Is it possible? Will Alltel let me use that phone?

That all depend if your phone is a Cdma phone or not. If it is then there's a good possibility that Alltel will let you use it. Otherwise if it is a GSM phone, those use sim cards and Alltel doesn't have sim cards so no dice. What it all comes down to is calling Alltel up and seeing if they will.

The phone can be put on an alltel account prepaid or contract. You just have to have the manual program codes for the MDN and MIN bc the Over the air programming wont work. IF you get these then any sales rep at any corporate store can program the phone.
