Yes they are. It is rumored that it will be released (first version) in the US in the early part of 2007. Following that will be the second version (smartphone) in the mid to late part of 2007. Both would more than likely be based on the iPod and running a portable version of Mac OS X.

But you will have to pay a grip to be able to have it.
Even with a contract it's still a grip. |

YOu know that everyone is going to pay for it too though. The razr was like $300 when it first came out and they marketed it like geniuses. they will probably give paris hilton a iphone and everyones going to go buy one no matter how much it is.

Of course, "fad phones" are always going to sell like hot cakes regardless of price, however these types of phones are few, far and between. What was T-Mobile's latest "must have"? The SK series?

The first iPhone is overhyped. It may have a lot of cool features, but does not support Cingy's 3g network, it uses EDGE. So a lot of the potential can't be fullfilled. Maybe the second or third one will correct the problem, but who knows? Before anyone considers this overpriced "thing", look at what it does, and see if it compares to other phones out there. Since no one else mentioned it in this thread, the iPhone (at least the first few) are EXCLUSIVE to Cingular. So if you can't live without it, or just want to show off how much you think you have, you may also wind up with an ETF.
