Has anyone found the Fido 3g slow or not working on the iPhone?

It seems to come and go....

Actually there are a lot of people reporting this problem. There is actually a ticket opened with rogers/fido regarding this issue.

People seem to suggest that the issue is the amount of new iphone on the market has saturated the connection.. but this is all speculation. You can probably call fido/rogers and get a months credit if its bothersome, hopefully it should clear up in the next week or so.

All fixed now it seems. Fido / Rogers 3G speeds seem to be pretty decent in the last few days.

3G no workie

I just got my iPhone today. 16GB Fido.

Wi-fi is fine and dandy.

3G not working at all. Okay, it'll work maybe less than 1% of the time. The rest of the time it either times out or will give me "Operation could not be completed. (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 302.)" when using Safari. The other apps (YouTube, weather, stocks, etc) will just time out and say it's unable to retreive data.

Tried a restore, didn't help.
Looks like this sucker isn't playing very well. I wish I had a working iPhone!!!!

What area are you in? I am in Vancouver.

When I first got my iPhone (fido also), the 3G did not work well and had all kinds of errors like the one you are describing, however this last week has been great and pretty fast.

Have you upgraded to the latest firmware?

Working

Yes, I did upgrade to 2.01 and still had problems. I gave up after two hours of no data. I tried again this morning and it suddenly worked again. Must be the network.

Yes, I agree its the network.

They may have been unprepared for the surge of traffic the network would have to sustain after the release of the iphone plus the 6gb data plan..
