I am on Fido too. It lists existing VMs and lets you play them (I think), it's just that any new VMs that come in will not be downloaded to your phone (and you don't get the notification badge either). As soon as you remove the settings, new VMs are downloaded.

this seems too good to be true, but could you do one for me Mike?
It should work for O2 in Irl. Profile name : Internet APN: Internet no username or password required. |

I'm not sure if this is the right APN configuration, but I am willing to try:
Provider name:AT&T APN:proxy Username:[leave blank] Password:[leave blank] Thanks |

For the people with Fido issues....
Try installing it again, setup the tethering and then once its setup remove the profile. I can now tether and visual voice mail works too. |

Weird. On my end, as soon as I remove the profile, tethering stops working. Well, anyhow, I'm sure the 'real' tethering will be available in a few days.

On and Off
Installed and tethering worked right away. In order to avoid the visual voicemail issue tried solution of removing profile after did a reboot, and it stopped right away on removing the profile. I guess no problem to install profile when I want to tether and remove when I don't.
Thanks for the solution for tethering, as when I called Fido they hadn't a clue what I was talking about. |

VVM and tethering
This enabled tethering, but broke VVM for me (Rogers).
It looks like it sets the APN for all services to 'internet.com', through which the VVM service can't be accessed. Changing this to the iPhone APN ('rogers-core-appl1.apn') should allow VVM and tethering at the same time, with no switching. Actually, a better approach would be to change *only* the APN for tethering. Looking at the official Rogers carrier bundle, that's done with a type-mask of 48. FYI: tethering in the carrier bundle is done through an APN 'isp.apn'. I'm guessing that's what the tethering SOC enables access to. |
