Enable Tethering on Fido and Rogers iPhone
![]() If you are having trouble getting Fido or Rogers to enable tethering on your 3.0GM iPhone. There is a simple way to do it just by creating a custom APN configuration file. I have added this for Fido and Rogers. Note: I have not tested Rogers as I do not have a Rogers phone. I have tested on Fido with tethering and MMS both work. To Enable: *You are responsible for what you do. We take no responsibility for this information / charges. If you are worried please do not use this! Just click on the link from your iPhone and click Install. Click ONLY on your provider or it will change the APN and lock you out of data. To disable this just go to Settings --> General --> Profile --> Then Remove I can add other providers if requested. Fido Configuration [updated][confirmed] Rogers Configuration [updated][confirmed] SingTel Configuration [confirmed] ATT Configuration [confirmed] T-Mobile Config Blanked Out APN (Data Block) Config *Update* It has been reported that Rogers is also works. As requested I have created a custom APN information file that disables data for the iPhone. Feel free to test and let us know if it is working for you. Blanked Out APN (Data Block) Config As always we are not responsible for any data charges/problems etc.. *Restoring / Updating / Clearing network settings or any type of update will remove these settings.

Good to hear its working.
If there are any other providers that is having trouble getting them to activate the option, just post the provider name/APN User/APN Password and I can generate the link. |

Thanks for the link, I'm a Rogers user and it seems to have worked for USB tethering. With Bluetooth it seems to connect for a second and then disconnects. Is anyone else running into this problem? Or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks again for the link! |

This worked great for me on Fido - BUT, it seems to break my Visual Voice Mail. When I removed the profile, VVM worked again, but it seems to prevent new notifications coming in when installed. Anyone else notice this?

T-Mobile USA iPhone 3.0 GM Tether
Wow, that's pretty neat. Can one of these carrier web install files for tethering on the 3.0 GM firmware be made for T-Mobile USA?

Same here. Shortly after removing the custom profile, visual voicemail notification returned.

Tried rebooting to see if that would fix it, but no, visual voicemail remains disabled with the profile loaded.
