Google Phone Information
Rumors:
Google is working with HTC to make a phone that runs Google Software The phone is said to work with that carrier "Orange" The phone will be on sale in 2008 Andy Rubin (see below) has a team of about 100 people, working for Google, on an unknown project. Google bought the mobile phone application company Reqwireless, which supposidly helped them create Google Maps Google bought the company Skia, who specializes in tight vector-based presentation engines. Google recently partnered up with Samsung, to put Google software on select Samsung Phones. Out of this, came a rumor that Google and Samsung would create a phone, with the codename "Switch" (below photo leaked to engadget) ![]() Rumor has it that the phone will most likely have VoIP software pre-installed. Specs on the phone say that it will almost for sure have 3G, a 2mp camera, flip up keyboard with Qwerty keypad, and will "offer all the exciting Google services from the PC" Recant Patents that Google has filed make us think that they are coming out with software that will know what you want, before you even finish typing/saying it. It is said that this software will you 1.6 million different variables to figure out what the user wants. Mad4MobilePhones has laid out this scenario: "This patent is truly groundbreaking in what the application could do. Imagine that you are planning a night out in London. At 6pm Google could predict you are looking for a restaurant and, given your history of looking for directions to Chinese restaurants every week, would select an array of suitable places for you to eat. At 9pm you would turn your phone on again and Google would know you wanted bars near the restaurant. At 11pm Google again predicts you need a list of local taxi firms." Neither Google or Orange has commented on the topic Andy Rubin is the the co-founder of Danger, the company that makes Sidekicks. His last company, Android, was sold to Google. For a while, Rubin has been in California, on the Google Campus, working on an unknown project.
