what does "refurb" mean when you want to buy a phone on cingular.com

Used and rebuilt. From my friend at Cingular they offer insurance on their phones. When they take on back they repair it to "like new" condition and sell it. Not sure of the warranty that comes with it, but I bet it is 90 days. I would go to Ebay if you are replacing a phone on your account

i would think that would be the abbreviation for refurbish, in other words it's a rebuilt

refurbished is a rebuilt phone that has all new casing on the outside and tested to make sure it works...but just like anything it can have an issue. my best phone ever was a refurb. they do come with a year warranty and if they are eligilbe handset you could get the insurance too.

Refub means Refubished. I would get that as an upgrade just get a normal phone after you break your phone 2ce they start to send you a refub...

When one reads the "fine print" on your Cingular / at&t contract, you will see that you _only _get _one _new _phone _period. The one you buy.

Any replacement phone you receive as a warranty replacement is a used/refurbished phone. I have been told "many stories" by the reps, however it's better to share my true experience. Since I buy a lot of phones from Cingular from time to time I have had to send them back and everytime I end up with a refurbished phone.

It's also important for you to know that this is not unique to the mobile phone business or Cingular. It's the way the warranties are written, at least in CA.

Sometimes they look like new, other times they have marks/small scratches/etc. On those occaisions I have demanded a replacement that is cosmetically perfect, and they have sent a unit with a new housing. Much better.
