What cell phone would you recommend for
Cingular? I care about the quality of the voice calls, UI, and size. I am reasonably happy w/ the Motorola V551, until it started to break down. Thanks for any advice!

Nokia 6682. It's not available from all/many Cingular stores as of last week, but they claim to be getting more in soon (apparently there was a firmware problem with some people's SIM cards). This phone has regularly been reviewed as one of the "best of breed" for smartphones that aren't hardcore PIMs (a la Treo, Blackberry). It's a phone first and foremost, but has Symbian OS, and there are a ton of apps you can add to it. Plus, great bluetooth compatibility and a reasonable size (not quite as small as the V551 you have, but much nicer screen IMO... and a better camera.)Probably the best phone (PHONE!) Cingular has at the moment. If you can't find one at the Cingular store, you can order it from Nokia's site directly and apparently, keep your existing plan (I think... there's a phone number to validate that as you get through the checkout process.) Or just buy one anywhere, as long as it's unlocked, your Cingular SIM will work as long as it's not one of the "3G" cards.

I have two V3 phones. They both are the best phones I have had so far.

The Sony Ericsson W600i is getting good reviews. I have had SEs in the past and call quality is great.

The nokia 6682 is a great phone but i havent carried in my store for over a year. it may be avab in other markets though. but i really like the sony 810i and the samsung sync. if you want some more of a smart phone the samsung blackjack now that it comes with a extended life battery...oh yeah make sure before you buy it, it has the extended battery in the box you will now because it has a seperate back plate for it. also the cingular 8525 is great and the new blackberry 8800 or a smaller blackberry pearl. But if you really like moto better go with the new moto razr v3 XX in gold or silverish.

Cingular has also been getting some good quality phones in, and that is what the OP would like to know about.

I've been keeping my eye on some of the reviews for the Moto V3xx, and so far users really seem to like it.
