RUMOR: New Cingular UNLIMITED M2M Messaging Plan!

Rumors have been floating around for a few days now of a NEW Cingular messaging plan. Because it is/was a rumor, I didn't post it until the info appeared to be fairly solid from fairly reliable sources. Details are as follows:

UNLIMITED M2M Messaging (text, pics, videos, im) to Cingular Users for $5.99/mo.

Some of the details (like exactly what is or is not included) is somewhat fuzzy, and I'm not sure if it's going to be an entirely new line of messaging plans or an add-on to existing messaging/voice plans, but the good news is that it's due out 3/4/07. Keep your eyes peeled! :read:

This wouldn't surprise me as Verizon just revamped their plans and we all know how these two LOVE to make changes at the same time. I'll be watching this closely to see what develops, keep us posted!

I just asked someone in a high ranking spot in Cingular and they confirmed this starts Sunday. Its 5.00 add on to existing plans for m2m text. Nothing was said about a new line of text messaging.

Oye! Looks like Cingular messaging plans will get a significant "boost" from where they are right now... this add-on is HOT for Cingular users (who message other Cingular users a lot)!

Yes unfortunately in my case this option wouldn't help me much as most of the users I text are not Cingular. However thats neither here nor there, if you're of the many who have dozens of people on Cingular, this is a dream come true. You can take the lowest text plan possible at 4.99 and add this on and its less expensive than t-mobile/sprint unlimited plans.

Unless you got in on the $9.99 Unlimited Messaging Add-On from T-mo when they offered it!

Very lucky...I wish I had gotten that while I could have...

Well looks like a Message-Price revolution is going on...hopefully all the companies will be dropping their prices and getting some good plans.

This is a great way to leverage a high subscriber base. Smaller carriers can't respond in kind. I'm sure it's cheaper than inter-carrier SMS too. I'll be adding mine soon.

There are rumors that when the change to at&t is complete, there will...finally...be an unlimited messaging plan. I don't personally need it. I like my BM1000 plan. ;)
