Hi guys,
Good News. I managed to speak to a Nokia rep last week and he mentioned that the new firmware for E90 will be coming out in week 38. That would be next week. I don't know what are the bug fixes. But one thing I know it that after the upgrade, our GPS will support A-GPS ... Booyah! No more long waiting time. |

It is a nice new but I have never update a phone before. When updating, all the installed software is lost? if so, is there a way to make a backup of all the apps installed on the phone memory and restore them after update ?

Hi naskit,
You are correct once you do an update, it flashes your phone and you'll lose all the installed software. 2 things you can try: 1. Do a backup using the PC Suite (do not backup phone settings) and once finished update, restore the backup file 2. Do a backup on your memory card. Go to 'Tools' folder and select 'Memory' application. Select 'Options', then select 'Back up phone memory' I haven't tried to see if the installed software will still be there. So let's just keep our fingers crossed ;) |

I've also upgraded the firmware for my E90. There is definitely an improvement with the GPS. Now it's A-GPS supported.
Response seem to be quicker too. But that could be due to the flashing of the firmware which of course wiped out all my previous softwares installed. |
