...Cingular Motorola V3xx phone? I created about a 20sec ringtone for my girlfriend for her new phone. I've created ones for my Verizon LG phone and uploaded them using funformobile.com with no problem; it sends them in an mms message and the message allows me to save it as a ringtone. I tried to do the same with the V3xx, but when I try to open the .mp3 file (it receives the mms message) it says file type unrecognized. I also tried to download it to the phone by having funformobile.com send it as a link and tried to download it through the internet, but again it said file type not recognized. The V3xx says that it is mp3 capable, so why isn't it recognizing the file? It recognized the file when I sent it as a .wav file, but the quality is terrible. Some people have posted on forums that the V3xx can support .mp3 ringtones, so why aren't they working? (The file size is not an issue; it is only about 240kb.)

It's the bitrate problem. Change the bitrate to be lower than 64kb or variable bitrate.
