The RIZR Z3 looks like it will be a great new phone on the TMobile lineup, but I'm going to keep a sharp eye on the Z8 as well, due to the way it is contoured to the face.

Wheres The Answer Key?

Other than three minor issues I'm in love with this phone because it does so many things well and so many thing better than branded phones like the LG CU500 and Sync that I had before it.
The battery door doesn't fit properly. Second, the phone in a severe poor signal area will flicker to a white screen and then go back to normal after a minute or so, which is very annoying. But it doesn't happen often. Third, I can't figure out a way to get one-click access to my Yahoo e-mail. In fact, I don't think that exists. Otherwise, I'm really enjoying it. Those aren't deal breakers, just stuff that needs to be fixed at some point, but I can live with. The reception is great, audio quality stellar, the camera is good, listening to tunes via Bluetooth headphones this morning at the gym was great. It can multi-task while playing music which so many other phones with media players don't do or don't do well. And I have been very impressed with the text messaging. It's taken some adjustment, but everytime I move to a new regular phone there's a few days of adjustment to the system. But, the iTap is smart, it is relatively snappy, has a good size dictionary and what words it doesn't know it learns very quickly. I like that I don't have to go into a pop up menu to teach it a new word while in a message. It makes things that much faster. All the tweaks and improvements made to the UI has made it a faster, more polished and more usable system. It's not perfect but it's so much better . I like that the camera doesn't produce blurry shots if you or subject don't stay still. The microSD card slot is under the battery door, but it's accessible because it's not under the battery. And my friend who hates blue told me today that even she liked the blue. The rubbery grippy stuff is great. So, there's some more thoughts on the RIZR. Can't wait for it to come out on T Mo so the market will be flooded with accessories for it. I went into a T Mo store looking for a universal pouch (I was desperate) and I showed the rep my phone and she actually told me to try a Sprint or Verizon store because both carriers sell it. OMG. I ended up getting a leather vertical case for the Pearl from the Cingular store and it fits quite well. Shocking, I know. Any questions? |

That was a great review of the RIZR quillhill. The rep. who told you to try sprint or Verizon was wrong because they don't carry the RIZR at this time. I think she may have been thinking of the KRZR in which both Verizon and Sprint do carry it.

I know Sprint and Verizon don't carry it and I told her the phone is GSM only and she was like, "Uh, OK."
She called it the 'Rihzur' so she at least knew something about it but I do think she confused it with the KRZR. I also told her I had no desire to go into a Verizon store to look for accessories. *shudder* She was like, 'Oh, it's not that bad.' Yes, yes it is that bad. LOL It was just funny because I know no carrier currently offers the RIZR in the U.S. That's partly why I bought it, to have something different. And wait til I write a full review. That's just my early impressions. ;) |

While I too like the looks of the Z8, I am going to wait until others have it and there are enough reviews to judge the durability, of the hinge. That is my only concern, other than that it should be great.
