formatting memory cards on motorola v3i??

hey can anyone help please......i have a motorola v3i and just bought a new "kingston" make 512mb memory card, however it is not formatting as it keeps saying failed for some reason. does anyone know how to overcome this problem???? can v3i's only use transflash memory cards or is there no difference????

This problem comes up quite frequently with the v3i's. I would try another memory card and see if that works. Your card should have came iwth a warrenty. Also, just so you know. I hear that the scandisk memory cards seem to work a lot better when it comes to being able to format them. If you cant take back the kingston card, that sucks. but if you get a scandisk it will work.

I use sandisk memory cards in all my camera phones. They seem to have the least amount of problems for me.

cheers man! i thought that might be the case, i'll just return the kingston card! btw are all memory cards transflash?? or is that another thing all together, just coz motorola are selling transflash memory cards officially from their website(they are scandisk!), just was a little confused. thanks for replying!

i use kingston and sandisk i would rather use sandisk but i got 4 1gig micro cards from kingston for 40 shipped so i can't really say anything i go where the cards are cheap.
