If I were you, I'd order it unlocked for $200, like me. I got that one for a buddy, and I got myself a silver krzr for $220. But yes, it is GSM. The camera is my favorite. With the slide closed, its in a widescreen viewfinder with a very conveniently placed camera button. It is the only slidephone that has ever interested me, I almost wish I had one for me. If you want I can direct you to the site....

Personally I have enjoyed the RAZR series for the last few years and not had a single problem. It's my personal favorite Moto phone, as I like the width, length, and how thin it is, plus for a Non-Smartphone I generally prefer the flip phone form factor.
That said, of the new variations on the RAZR theme my favorite is the RIZR Z3. I have personally inspected one very closely and find it to have by far the best slider mechanism. It's robust and will withstand a lot of opening and closing cycles without becoming loose like some of the other slider models. I have not purchased one yet, the reason being I have some very reliable contacts within Motorola, T-Mo, RIM and Cingular. So the only point is it's my understanding that within just 3 short months after it's intial release here, they expect to discount the phone rather significantly which will be a great time to buy. So unless your in a really big rush and must have one the moment they are introduced, you can save money by waiting. Cheers... |

What I forgot to mention in my ealier post is my friend quillhill has one. The reports that I get back on that RIZR are stellar. Unlocked and unbranded it's a great phone that quillhill has put a lot of time on with great results.

moto KRZR
Personally, i just got a krzr r1m from Alltel. Both of my parents have RAZR's, and i think the r1m is pretty awesome. It's somewhat of a chore to use mp3's of your own, but it is possible to use them as ringtones as well. My reception has been wonderful since I got it. One thing about the razr that always bugged me is how wide they are. the razr and krzr are both the same thickness i know...or at least pretty close. but the krzr's width seems much more comfortable than the razrs wideness. the extra 1 gig of storage is great.

Just as an aside, and the reason the I like the fact that we have so many choices in phones: I love the RAZR's width, as I have large hands and find it really comfortable. However that said, I'm not blindly loyal to any brand, model or size as I have'nt found a mobile phone I don't like yet..... just some are better than others...in fact I wish I _could_ be comfortable with the narrower phones as there are some great ones out there....:w00t: |
