Why is Nextel the only cell service with...
...GPS mapping? Supposedly all cell phones now have GPS capability.?

sprint nextel isn't the only one that can do this there is helio and VZW i know for sure that can do it
and i think cingular can now but im not sure tmo can with 3rd party devices so what it comes down to is do you have a GPS capable phone? |

Yeah, Verizon now has GPS on their phones. Neither national GSM carriers do

they do but you have to have a GPS receiver in order for it to work ;)

In general, CDMA phones made for CDMA networks (ie: Verizon, Sprint/Nextel) has the capability and usually do have GPS capabilities. GSM phones usually don't have native GPS capabilities built in, but you can use 3rd party attachments/receivers to give it GPS capabilities. Just remember that GPS service on ANY carrier costs extra, and you'll need to subscribe to that service to use your built-in GPS capability.
