Nextel suck beware!!!!!!?
I’ve been a Nextel customer for about a year and a month now. I just wanted to let you know about the crazy experience that I’ve been going thru with Nextel as we speak and I was hoping you could give me some advice. The month of October I purchased a brand new Nextel i880 for 400 dollars from someone that was selling it on craiglist. As soon as I received my phone I called Nextel to let them know about the phone switch so that my insurance could get transferred over to the new phone. Well I let them know that the phone wasn’t purchase from Nextel that I brought it from someone they said ok and transferred my insurance over. I then started paying my insurance monthly on the i880 just in case my phone had gotten stolen or lost. Around the month of December I started having problems out of i880 phone; I then placed my sim card in a i270 just until I had gotten my I880 replaced. I called Nextel to get it replaced they sent me to the repair center I then paid 20 dollars for them to open it to see what was wrong with it. They advised me that it was water damage in the phone and due to the fact I had taken my sim card out and put it in the i205 that my insurance had been switched over to the i205; They told me to take my sim card out and put it back into the i880, talk on that phone and then the insurance would be switched back over. I did exactly what I was told to do I called Nextel to make sure that the i880 was showing up in the system, they advised me that it was. I then called Signal back to let them know that I did go to the service center and that they told me that it had water damaged. They asked me did I know how the phone could receive water damage I told them no I barely drop my phone let alone drop it in water. They told me due to the fact I didn’t know how the phone received water damage that it’s not going to be covered in other words the claim was denied. I continued to talk on the I880 until it slipped out of my pocket this morning 2/23/07. When I got to work I called Nextel to tell them that I had lost my phone. They transferred me and transferred me until they told me that due to the fact I didn’t have a receipt from a Nextel dealer for my phone that they wouldn’t cover it. I explained to them that I’ve been paying insurance monthly for the i880 and that Nextel was aware of the fact that the phone wasn’t purchased from Nextel and that they still switched the phone over for me; She told me that it was nothing that they could do but allow me to get another phone with a 75 dollar discount which means the i880 cost approximately 500 dollars from the Nextel dealer so with there discount I’ll only be paying $425 for the phone. “What type of deal is that”, I told them no I refuse to pay 400 dollars for another phone. So I once again got transferred again this time they told me that my insurance for the i880 has been transferred to the i270 which cost a measly 20 or 30 bucks. I told them that I have been talking on the i880 for the past month and I also called to make sure that it was transferred back over to the i880. They informed me that there was nothing they could do about it, the insurance was expired from the i880 since January 23, 2007 and switched over to the i270 which I have not been talking on i270 phone for the past month I had only used that phone for about a day if that long. Now Im waiting to see if they will approve me for an in house claim. From the looks of it I will get denied for that also; Im very frustrated with Nextel and I no longer would like to be a customer. Please let me know what I should do. Thanks so much for your time.
