if sprint & nextel is now combined,why...
...can't you activate a sprint phone on nextel? hi guys, We all know that nextel and sprint has joined togther, but I want to know why is it that you can't activate a sprint phone to nextel? cingullar lets you activate your at&t phone,any had this problem with nextel?

iDEN and CDMA don't mix, as mentioned, two different technologies...

Sure it'll be resolved - Sprint will continue to alienate its Nextel cousins to the point where enough Nextel customers jump ship that they'll be able to discontinue iDEN technology altogether, LOL!

They now have those nifty little hybrid phones, at least until Nextel is phased out so we can all enjoy QChat, which is supposed to be as good or better than IDEN DC.

by 2008 nextel will be gone and sprint will drop the nextel name and only being using the IDEN network for the DC

Word around the campfire is that they will completely shut IDEN off by 2010.

sprint only bought nextel for the DC nothing else thats all they want out of it. it should be gone by 2008 - 2010.
