a story of 3 barebone computers
this is kinda annoying story
back to Christmas time, got some travel pay, I decided to build 2 new computers barebones, CPU, memory, hard drive, DVD recorder, keyboard, mouse, and 2 sets of XP pro the assembly was not going well the first unit, took me a while to remove the cover, then installed the memory BANG!!! BSOD during installation, tried different parts till I installed 2 sets of 256MB RAM, fixed the second unit, it's DOA! (BIOS failure, unable to boot) called the computer seller for RMA, cost me $40 to send through mail after 2-3 weeks, the manufacturer sent back, when opened it, found nothing changed, then the result can be expected: DOA again! then I had to bite the bullet, ordered the 3rd barebone, received about 4 days later, put everything from the 2nd barebone, it works since I was busy like crazy during these times, I had hard time to contact the manufacturer Tech Support finally I got a contract, told the situation, got prepaid UPS ticket, shipped again (free) the following weekend about a month later (past Wed), received the 2nd barebone back, removed all the components from 1st barebone, put everything in, and everything works ordered one more CPU, hard drive, memory, installed tonight, it works finally dang!!! I never thought the barebones I built for replacing the computers I have turned into bad headache! |

WOW, I think I would avoid the bare bones computers in the future. Sounds like it was one bag headache to me. But at least you were able to get everything set up.
