What exactly is 'Digg This' anyway, I see this thing on some other websites I frequent and have no idea what it is for. I did click to digg this topic. But what is it? And what is it supposed to do?

Digg is a site that shows what is blowing up on the internet. If something is really cool, it gets a lot of digs, and it goes to the front page of Digg.com
Then people look at the front page of Digg.com and see it, go to it, if they like it, they digg it...
stuff like that
