Good times. At least you have good reasons. Location, location, location, is what its all about. You are incorrect on one point, however, Cingular is not in more places than any other carrier. I'm not %100 on who is, but its not a gsm carrier. Compare overall cdma coverage vs gsm, and it might shock you. I don't doubt that Cingy is better in PA, but nationwide, NO.

If I were going to back to a CDMA carrier, then Verizon would be my top pick. Last edited by MobilePrincess; 02-27-2007 at 01:58 PM. |

Interesting question, Springythangy vs. Singlesbars....
I think Cingular is WAY overpriced, but I also question why thousands upon thousands of Nextel customers are jumping off the Springy ship? What is there about Sprint that bothers people so? |

If you are in an area in PA not covered by Sprint's home network I can't blame you. But overall, Sprint offers more for less. That and they do not neuter the bluetooth capability as much.

Something bothers people about it. I think they had a lot of inept and/or sheisty people working for them that gave them a bad name. On the Nextel note, the iden network has been getting worse over time, and a lot of people are quick to just blame Sprint for it. But they have made Nextel service a little less expensive and are now offering hybrid devices that might make some of the people that left think twice.

As much as Verizon maybe, but the GSM carriers don't neuter the bluetooth capabilities at all.

Customer service probably had a lot ot do with it. I know for a wwhile there, Sprint's customer service was absolutely horrible, and to the point it almost made me want to break my contract and leave, but they have dramatically improved.

Logically I would think so too. But the public does not operate that way. It's all about perception and image. Inept customer service and people being burned by false promises, no matter what scale it's being done on, will create a problem. I know a lot of people that use both sides, Sprint and Nextel, a few of them relying on their cell service to operate businesses. Most of these people have had it for many years. While I was selling Sprint, bad customer service in the past held a lot of people back from coming back. I sell T-mobile right now for that very reason, but I won't use one of their phones, even though it would save me a little bit of money because a phone that does not work is as good as a paperweight to me. Coverage was the main reason I wound up dropping Cingy. The notion that their network is inferior and thats what drives people away is ludicris. I have many long time t-mob customers that stick with them just because of their outstanding customer service, even though they could have great coverage in the areas they use it with another carrier. It doesn't matter what the situation IS, it matters what the public THINKS IT IS.

I am a Cingular customer and have had the pleasure of calling on a Sunday myself. No problems at all. |

I am well aware of the "after-hours" cc, I probably still have the number written down at home. Why make the distinction? Just have it open with the same number avilable at any time. It makes one think that Cingular hates their subscribers.... I can get to it, and you know what you are doing, but there are people that find that too hard to comprehend. But with Sprint I have never had a billing issue...where Cingular tried sticking it to me.

I'm not attempting to argue that any carrier is "better than the other." I was rebutting your notion that it is an inferior network....

Look I think the one thing that you and I can agree on here is that what really matters when you come right down to it is your "location". There isn't a provider out there who is going to be able to provide you with coverage in every spot that you travel to. Enough said!
