15.5 in Oregon for the permit, and 16 for the drivers license, but it has some restrictions on it. I am not really too sure what those are.

I think you have to be 14 here to get a learners permit and 15 to get a permit and 16 to get a drivers license. Its a great way to do it. I am really a good driver now because i had so much expierence while i was younger. I also started driving when i was 13 "illegally" hah.

I checked the Alabama laws pertaining to 14 year old's, 14 or 15 year olds can get what is called M license with a B restriction. They can ride a moped or any bike that has the maximum of 5 horsepower.
