I encode it to mp3 format first (64k mono), then edit with wave editor, change audio level when necessary

That's allot of tones mingkee. I had up to 100 tones that I made back when I used the LG 8300 on Verizon's network, but haven't done anything on my GSM phones.

I have made a few tones (using Magix). I like to keep the same ringtone for a long time - if I switch often I don't recognize it when it rings....

Yeah, I make my own ringtones and text alerts. I like having something that no one else has. I make them for my friends too.

Same here. I like having original stuff, its always fun.

Exactly. Like right now, my text message alert is Jigsaw whispering "I want to play a game." Pretty spooky stuff. Naturally, I always get alot of weird looks when it goes off in public.

yeh i make mine own too. its better that way since you can get exactly what you want.

Yeah I can't imagine paying for a ringtone. I've got 3721 songs on my laptop and each one is a potential ringer. I think I should be good for awhile.

Exactly, and that's what I love about it. I make them for all my friends too, except the Cellular South and Alltel kids. ;)

Well yeah, cause it would be pointless to buy them now. Why waste money on something you can do yourself that never expires?

I don't make my own tones, But I do have quite a few ringtones downloaded on my computer. :smile1:
