Man I'm having trouble...I was having the same problem that "ckipel" was describing in post #35, but I refused to believe it was the cable. So I downloaded v1.7 and it will start some progress but gets stuck on
"** Downloading the pre-Loader (1844 bytes)... " If I leave the battery out it will get up to "Start Pre-Loader..." I've tried leaving "Don't Auto NAND Format" unchecked, I've tried different COM ports, and even different flashing softwares...nothing works (OneNANDDownloader 1.7 seems to get the furthest). Do I just have a bad cable? |

Other users report that it works after using a new cord. Do you have anything weird with your computer...or has anything happened to it? |

Unless your phone is on silent, you will not be able to make the keypad tones silent. You can make them low volume with the volume keys on the side.
The patch should let you be able to change that however. Have you installed the patch? |

![]() Otherwise, your stuck. If I find anything about this, I will post it. 2. Do you have quad-band activated? Go to Menu > Settings > Network Settings > Band Selection and make sure its on Quad-band. Flashing could help your signal some, but it is not likely it will help significantly 3. Go to men > Browser > Profile Settings > What ever profile you want to edit, and then enter the settings for the carrier you are using. |

My browser is on the menu, not under settings. If yours is not under either, it looks like the only way to gain access to it is to flash it.

I really want to upgrade to the D820 firmware but I'm pretty apprehensive about it. I was hoping you could answer some questions.
1) Does the firmware update erase everything on the phone? Contacts, Ringtones, Messages, etc? 2) Is it possible to back up my current firmware and settings? 3) Is it possible to revert to the original firmware? 4) Why can't you just use a USB synch cable? It shows up with a COM port when connected. Thanks, Ryan Last edited by kc311man; 03-16-2007 at 08:09 AM. Reason: One more question... |
