...Fujitsu-Siemens, scaleo 600 model? at present it has 512 RAM and would like to add another 512 on top.please note that i'm new to computer and be simple with words as i'm not familiar with computer language (technical words). i went to a shop to have it done but its going to cost me around £45.00 for a 10 minute job.

assuming its a standard desktop pc then its very very easy to increase the memory. it may be easy these days to upgrade the memory in a laptop, certainly it never used to be (most of the parts were propriatory and space is always awkward in a laptopRemove the power plug before doing anything.Easiest thing to do is to have a look at the case, (usually there are 2 or 4 screws in the back around the side panels of the pc. undo those screws slide off the panel.look at the motherboard and you should see 2 or possible 4 long thin sockets, one of which will have a circuit card in.if you have any doubts take your PC to a a shop and ask them to put more memory in.. they shouldn't charge you much if anythign to do that. (Id ask the shop you are buying the memory from if they will fit it)BTW If I were you Id put in a 1GB memory rather than another 512mb.. modern day software are memory hogs.
