if i have the prepaid phone card in my phone, meaning that i don't have a monthly plan, just the 1000 minutes that will run throuought the year, can i still IM or text? (and yes, i know u guys think having those phone cards is old or whatever, but thts not my question)

i'm pretty sure you can do that... i have the same plan as your and i think that was pretty good, since you don;t have to worry about monthly bills... :)... but yes.... you can do text messages...
