Yay! I hope this is a nice phone...maybe when my brother gets a phone, I'll take his discount, get this, and give him my D820

Would the 5300 be an upgrade from my D820?

I am VERY interested in this phone but the only thing that concerns me is the 3 hour battery life. Judging by previous experience with the 6133 3 hours is conservative with regards to Nokia battery life. I'm looking forward to picking this one up and hopefully one day soon Nokia will put forth extended life batteries.

yeah, 3 hours of battery is terrible for that phone. My samsung even has more. And it will be even worse because its a music phone

Its the only dealbreaker and right now its the only device sans anything unlocked that would make me consider giving up my trace. I can't decide on taking a blackberry which means to me that I don't want it that much otherwise I would have purchased already so I will wait and do more research on this phone to see if maybe, hopefully an extended battery will be available.

Well, what would you suggest: Upgrading now and then again when 3G comes out to a 3G phone, or upgrading when 3G is out?

Nokia rep came into work today....played with the phone. Nice but felt a little cheap with regards to the plastic. Usual Nokia, series 40 version 3 and a breeze to navigate through and had no trouble keeping up with my changing menus. The music was loud and came through clear. Rep did report some concern over the battery life and had no idea if a firmware fix would be coming or if extended batteries are available.

Phone was loud in the earpiece and texting was a breeze, absolutely no concern about the 1,2,3 keys hitting the bottom of the slide. Everything on the phone worked well.

The rep did mention that it was going to be targeted at 18-24, a sort of challenge to the chocolate as its T-mobile's first REAL music phone. I'm sure alot of people will grab this one up if its price point does come out at $99.99.

Overall I really liked it, it was tactile, thinner than I expected and a joy to use. I'll have to take one home and give it a thorough dry battery run and I'll report back soon.

I have to see the no-contract upgrading price
but I also have to figure out streaming audio support
the major advantage of full internet
