[CompUSA] Dash for $49.99

Quote:
Perhaps due, at least in part, to their recent downsizing project, brick-and-mortar retailer CompUSA is currently offering the T-Mobile Dash for the low low price of $49.99. This price is straight up — no mail-in rebates — no sacrificial offerings (unless you consider a two-year service agreement to fall under the latter). CompUSA stores are disappearing like hotcakes, so if you've got a hankering for some Dash in your life, better to head on down sooner than later.

Okay, I DO consider a 2-year contract to be a sacrificial offering. What is the no-contract price?

CompUSA.com - Closing Stores

List of closed or closing CompUSA stores. Many are going quick if they are not gone already, my local one has closed before I even knew anything about it.

Thanks for the list, Clarice! Looks like they're giving up in the Chicagoland area!

My friend works at a chicago area Comp. They are closing within the next two months. They are giving up Chicago. I have mixed feelings. I feel bad for my buddy and his co-workers, but I do believe that specialists should be selling phones. They have Event reps from time to time, but they are trained in wireless as much as radioshackers- not at all. They didn't sell a lot of phones because they don't know much about them besides hoe to activate a new mine or upgrade. I'm sure that there are some there and at RS that are dedicated to knowing the product, but they are few and far between. I will miss the Comp, but I won't miss fixing their staff's mistakes.

In one year we may be using biotechnology communication and I would be stuck with that. The only contract I have is written on a scratch off card.
