Motorola tracphone hangs when

When I turn on the Motorola tracphone, the phone seems to hang at

'Searching for Network'

Eventually the screensaver comes on. When I hit power again, I get my regular menu. However, the 'Add Airtime' message in the upper left hand corner doesn't appear for another 5 minutes. At which point I can use my phone.

At first, I thought it was maybe my location. However, the Cell Phone exhibits the same Behavior in Berkeley, San Rafael, Downtown San Francisco, and Oakland. I've also tried the same areas on different days. The reasoning was that maybe the weather was having some kind of impact. Nothing. Maybe I accidently changed some kind of Phone Network preference option. However, when, I don't see any kind of option the Cell Phone that allows a person to 'Change Phone Networks;.

Ideas?

The GSM phones do take a while to go through its power up cycle. Your phone is probably acting normally. I would suggest lengthening the amount of time before the screen saver comes on to five minutes (if possible on your phone). That should take care of the interruption of the screen saver.
