How can I get out of a two year cell phone contract with

US Cellular? I recently (5 months ago) just agreed to a two year contract with cell phone company US Cellular with two phones for my brother and I. It has taken me this long to realize that the service sucks (LOTS of dropped calls, the crappy phone they sold me, roaming where it's not supposed to on that impressive map they show you where service exists). What would I have to do (besides pay hundreds) to get out of that contract so that I may go to another provider? Because I think I would like to do business with Cingular. I have heard if you talk to another cell phone provider about this that they will buy out the contract to get you to use their service, but i want to know if a method like that is true.

Pay the amount they specified to you in your contract for early closure of the account. My charge is $175.00 for Cingular.

Thats Funny b/c I've been with US Cellular for 2 years now, going into my second contract, and I've not had any of those problems.

i dont know why you have problems with US Cellular. It depends on what type of phone you have. For example..i had an LG phone that dropped calls constantly and i hated it, but then i got a motorola and i have had the phone for 3 months and have not dropped a call yet! (we live out in the woods and only have 1 bar) I have been with them for at least 4 years and the service is much better than alltel and cingular in my area. I would suggest getting a different brand before I pay $300 to end it!

Find a place where US Cellular does not have coverage, Point Barrow Alaska :cold: or New York City :mouse2: , and tell them you are moving there. You have waited too long to cancel because of crappy service. You can also try to sell your contract.

I would try a pre-paid before signing a long term contract again.
