I ordered a phone with my upgrade discount, but I changed my mind about the phone. I called verizon and told them that I dont want that phone and decided to order the chocolate instead using my upgrade discount. They said everything is taken cared of, but I was sent TWO phones...the one I tried to cancel and the chocolate that I wanted. If i want to activate one but give the other phone to a family member, will they find out and force me to pay retail for one if I do not return it? It's their mistake so I am just considering this. If you have an answer, please let me know if you think this is do-able.

It's not like you can hide the phone from them, they will find out, and they will charge you.Best to do is to call them and explain what happened and what you should do. Chances are will be that you will have to pay for that phone to be added on your line if you don't return it.

I think that if you don't let the company know about this mistake you can get away with this. This just happened to a friend where he tried to cancel a phone that he ordered, and ended up with two phones. He is going to keep them because it was the company's mistake. If they ask you, you could always say you never received the first phone- but that's only if you are comfortable with lying to the company. Good luck.
