Verizon is CDMA and Cingular is GSM.. so i would say it would not be possible...

well sure that can be done but when you unlock a phone, it tends to loose quite a few features on the phone. You just need the unlock codes

Short Answer - No thats not possibleLong Answer - Verizon works of different wireless technology than ATT. Verizon uses CDMA while ATT uses GSM technology. These two technologies are incompatible and phones for one technology do not work for other.CDMA is owned by Qualcom. They have kept it more restrictive in what can be done with phone and devices. You cannot change your phone without activating it on the network. You cannot add applications easily. Sometimes the bluetooth functionalities of phone are cripled.. and list goes on...GSM standard not owned by one company, probably thats why its more open. The GSM phones use SIM card for identifying the customer. You can use SIM card in any compatible unlocked GSM phone and use it.

The answer is no. "unlocking a phone" only refers to gsm phones and Verizon Wireless is a cdma only carrier. Simply put, a Verizon phone will not work on a GSM network such as Cingular (AT&T), T-Mobile. It's like trying to pick up FM on an AM only radio, just won't work.
