I think the ability to get strong signals where you are is the best way to figure this out...I would go for Verizon really.

It all depends where you are located. Verizon is great in California, but my friends hate it in Ohio because of a lot of dropped calls. Ask folks in your area.

I agree. I can't even get a signal at home with Verizon, but with Cingular I have no problems. The best way to judge a carriers performance in your area is to use the carriers trial period.

They're pretty much the same here in my area, but then I'm far from Indiana. I know some peole who do live there though and they switched from verizon To Cingular due to service issues. I'm not sure exactly what those service issues were though.

Those changes may have had something to do with Verizon dropping some of their roaming agreements in that area. I know when they changed their plans from AC 1 to AC2 some areas were affected by coverage. In my area I know there were spots that I had a good signal with AC 1 but when I changed over to AC2 my coverage ended up being affected.

so sign up with both the same day and try them both out for a week and you will know which is better. i also suggest getting the same brand phones. they both offer trial periods so you can return the phones for a full refund. also tell them you will sign up if they waive the activation fee. goto corp stores for this. believe me that paying for a extra week of usage is better than a 2 year mistake.
